FAQ

What is permanent jewelry?
It's a bracelet, necklace, or anklet custom-fit to your wrist, neck, or ankle that’s ends are connected with a small metal ring that is welded closed. There's no clasp, so it's meant to be worn all the time (but you can cut it off if you need to).
-
Why would I want permanent jewelry?
Lots of reasons! Some people love the sleek, seamless and elegant look, and it can have personal meaning as well. People also love to create fun jewelry stacks over time.
-
What kind of metals do you use?
We have sterling silver, gold-filled, rose gold-filled, and some 14 karat gold options (when available). If you want something specific in 14 karat gold, we can special order it for you.
-
Can I make it more 'me'?
Absolutely! You can pick birthstones, charms, and connectors to make it one-of-a-kind. You can choose things that have special meaning for you.
-
How does it work?
First, you try on different chains and pick your favorites. Then, we size it perfectly for you. Once you love it, we weld it closed right there on the spot.
-
Will it hurt?
Not at all! We use a piece of leather to cover your skin, and it's over in a flash.
-
How do I take care of it?
Just avoid harsh chemicals like bleach and sulfur (heavily chlorinated pools and hot tubs, cleaning products, heavily scented body products, etc), and clean it gently with soap and water.
-
What if it breaks?
No worries, we can usually re-weld it. If it breaks somewhere else, we'll add a cute connector to cover the extra weld point.
-
Can I ever take it off?
Yes, you can cut the little jump ring that connects the ends any time. You can easily do it yourself with nail clippers by clipping the jump ring that was welded (just make sure you protect your eyes). It can be re-welded at a later date, or we can weld a clasp on so it can be a traditional bracelet.
-
Is it safe?
It is, but there's a tiny risk of burns (mostly when using a welder not made for permanent jewelry and we always protect the skin at the welding point) or eye injury if you look at the spark as it is welded (we provide eye protection or you can simply look away from the spark). Some people have allergies to different metals and their skin might react to the metals and alloys that the bracelet is made on, and you simply remove the bracelet in that instance. We can answer all your questions and make sure you're comfortable with the process.
